Jordan’s athletes to compete in West Asia Athletics Championship

AMMAN — Athletes from 12 countries, including Jordan, have gathered in Qatar to participate in the fourth edition of the West Asia Athletics Championship, which began on Wednesday. اضافة اعلان

The participating nations include Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, the UAE, Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine, Yemen, and Syria, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

22 contests over 3 daysThe tournament, which spans over three days, includes 22 contests, such as long jump, shot put, triple jump, javelin throw, 100m sprint, 800m race, 10,000 steps walk, and 3m steeplechase.

Mohammed Al-Fadhala, the president of the Qatar Athletics Federation and the West Asian Athletics Association, has expressed his desire for the championship to achieve technical success on both game and individual levels for the athletes.

He also highlighted that the Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium's field and track are ready to host competitions, and the tournament provides a unique opportunity for athletes from the west of the continent to showcase their talents, which will aid them in upcoming challenges in athletics championships at continental and international levels.
