The PSD spokesperson said that joint security and intelligence efforts between the Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) and other security agencies led to this significant bust.
Operation Details:
Intelligence reached the AND about a foreign national preparing to smuggle a large quantity of crystal meth into the country.
A joint operational and investigative team was formed to verify the intel and track the suspect’s movements.
Investigations revealed that the drug was to be smuggled inside heavy machinery parts, transported via a commercial vehicle entering through the Al-Karama border crossing.
After weeks of surveillance, authorities identified and monitored the suspect upon his arrival in Jordan. Once the vehicle arrived in the capital, officers moved in and arrested the suspect during the handover.
Seizure:
Upon inspection, authorities discovered 45 kilograms of crystal meth concealed within the machinery parts.
The operation is being hailed as a major success in Jordan’s ongoing efforts to combat the spread of highly dangerous narcotics.
The PSD reaffirmed its commitment to dismantling drug networks and preventing narcotics infiltration into the Kingdom, emphasizing that such operations will continue with increased coordination and vigilance.
