AMMAN - Former Director General of the Natural Resources Authority Maher Hijazin said that investment in copper mining will positively affect the national economy.
He attributed the importance of exploiting copper to the significant rise in the prices of all metals in general and copper in particular, which reached record prices of $8,400 per ton, as a wide range of studies on copper maintaining high prices for years to come.
Investments revenues in Dana Biosphere Reserve are forecast to reach some $4 billion, Hijazin said, adding that the prospective project will create nearly 8,00 job opportunities.
