Spanning over 200 dunams upon completion, the project includes picnic areas, parking lots, commercial and tourism services, and public facilities designed to serve both domestic and international tourists.
Hassan highlighted the significance of the comprehensive Dead Sea shore development project, noting its positive socio-economic impact on the local community and its role in enhancing the national tourism product.
He emphasized the need to provide and maintain all essential services for citizens and visitors along the shore, while diversifying activities and events to ensure the beach remains a prime destination for locals and tourists alike, especially during the current tourism season.
The Prime Minister was briefed by the Chairman of the JFDZG, Engineer Sakher Al-Ajlouni, on the master development plan for the Dead Sea tourism shore. The plan aims to integrate the "Tourism Beach" and "Corniche" projects to bolster its competitiveness as a global tourism destination.
The first phase of the project involves developing a 750-meter promenade along the Dead Sea shore, followed by a second phase extending 3 kilometers. This includes:
Landscaping and beautifying the promenade area.
Installing family seating areas and umbrellas.
Building playgrounds, swimming pools, and sports units.
Providing service facilities, restaurants, and retail shops.
Creating green spaces and paved sidewalks.
Hassan pointed out that the project will create numerous job opportunities for the local community through small productive and commercial ventures established along the shore.
The comprehensive development plan also includes hosting additional activities and events at the Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II Park during the tourism season to enrich the visitor experience.
