AMMAN — Deputy
Prime Minister and Minister of Local Administration Tawfiq
Kreishan said that appointments and contract terminations fall under
the authority of the government, and that the government is not obligated to
disclose its reasons for appointing or terminating the services of directors or
institutions, Al-Rai reported.

Kreishan was speaking during the Lower
House session held on Monday, after MPs directed questions to the government
concerning the termination of the contract of the former director of the Social
Security Corporation, Hazem Al-Rahahleh.
Kreishan stressed that the government
follows the laws and the constitution when it comes to terminating the
contracts of directors of official institutions.
He also stated that the government
“appreciates” recent parliamentary interventions regarding a bill amending the
Social Security Law for the year 2022.
