Energy ministry signs 7 mining MoUs since start of 2022

AMMAN —  The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has signed seven memoranda of understanding since the start of 2022 in a bid to put Jordan on the regional and global mining map, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

In a press release on Wednesday, Minister Saleh Kharabsheh underscored the mining sector's ability to supply the economy with added value, expand job opportunities, and achieve sustainable development.

Under the agreements, global and regional companies are expected to submit economic feasibility studies on exploring ores of rare earth elements, including gold and copper.
