According to the spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate, investigative teams from the Criminal Investigation Department and the Southern Region Security Command reopened the case of a missing girl born in 1991 and of Arab nationality, who disappeared in Aqaba Governorate in 2008.
Upon re-examining the case and gathering new evidence, the team suspected that the girl's disappearance was linked to her murder. Her brother was identified as the primary suspect and was subsequently arrested.
During questioning, the suspect confessed to stabbing and killing his sister following a dispute, then transporting and burying her body in an uninhabited area.
With the public prosecutor’s authorization, authorities searched the indicated site and discovered human remains, which were sent to the forensic lab for DNA matching with the missing girl. The suspect has been referred to the Public Prosecutor of the Grand Criminal Court, who ordered his detention on charges of premeditated murder.
