The departments stated their full preparedness to implement a comprehensive traffic security plan for the start of the new school year, which begins next week. The plan includes strengthening the presence of traffic personnel on the roads to deal immediately with any disruptions, facilitating students’ and parents’ journeys to their destinations.
They noted that traffic patterns are expected to change in most governorates, especially the capital Amman, with the start of the academic year, marked by increased congestion in the morning and evening. Citizens were urged to set out at least 10 minutes earlier than usual during the school holiday period in order to reach their destinations safely and on time.
Meanwhile, a traffic operations officer highlighted that a violation involving the misuse of vehicles for unlicensed purposes—such as transporting passengers in the back cargo area—led to a serious injury yesterday after a person fell.
Authorities urged citizens to avoid such violations, and others that could result in injuries or material damage, in order to protect public safety.
