This batch includes 128 convicted Syrians out of approximately 300 prisoners expected to be covered under the deal, which was signed last February. This follows a first batch handed over last March, which comprised 132 prisoners.
The Syrian Minister of Justice, Mazhar Al-Weis, announced yesterday, Tuesday, the imminent receipt of this new batch of convicts. This step falls under the security and judicial cooperation between Lebanon and Syria, aiming to repatriate convicts to their home country to serve the remainder of their sentences.
