The Ministerial Committee for the Cleanliness Strategy and Anti-Littering Executive Program (2026–2027) has announced the launch of an integrated national plan to boost public cleanliness during the Eid al-Fitr holiday. Participating Entities
The campaign involves a wide array of government sectors, including the Ministries of:

Interior, Tourism & Antiquities, Awqaf, Culture, Local Administration, Youth, Digital Economy, Government Communication, Public Works, and Agriculture.

Security & Specialized Authorities: Public Security Directorate (PSD), Royal Department for Environmental Protection (Rangers), Greater Amman Municipality (GAM), Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA), and the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN).

Key Components of the Plan
Field Campaigns: Intensive cleaning drives at picnic spots, tourist and archaeological sites, and nature reserves across all governorates, particularly those expecting high footfall during Eid.

Waste Management Tools: Distribution of trash bags to picnickers and specialized bags for use inside vehicles to curb littering.

Monitoring and Enforcement: Increased inspection tours through stationary and mobile patrols by the "Rangers" and Tourism Police to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

Infrastructure Support: Deployment of 300 metal waste containers (1,100-liter capacity) and 300 hanging bins. The first phase begins in Irbid Governorate, followed by the rest of the Kingdom.

Awareness and Media Outreach
A comprehensive media campaign will be launched featuring:

SMS alerts and educational videos.

Social media content involving environmental activists and influencers.

Messages focusing on shared responsibility and the preservation of natural resources.

Governance and Sustainability
The Executive Program was approved by the Cabinet, with a Ministerial Committee headed by the Minister of Environment. This committee is tasked with monitoring implementation, measuring performance indicators, and submitting periodic reports to the Cabinet to ensure sustainable environmental and behavioral impact.

Note: Campaigns may be postponed in the event of unstable weather conditions to ensure participant safety.
