COVID-19 cases top 3,118, as positivity rate hits 7.72 percent

AMMAN — Jordan recorded 3,118 new COVID-19 cases and 24 new deaths on Tuesday, bringing the total death toll to 11,279 and the total number of cases to 898,682.اضافة اعلان

The Ministry of Health said that Amman alone recorded 1,135 cases, while Zarqa recorded 296 cases. Irbid registered 696 cases, Balqa 170 cases, Karak recorded 83 cases, Jerash recorded 170 cases, and Tafileh recorded 43 cases. Madaba registered 73 cases, Aqaba 67, Ramtha 143, and Ajloun 83.

The ministry said in a statement that 91 hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from hospitals, while 127 new patients were admitted.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 32,231 according to the ministry. Out of 40,404 COVID-19 tests conducted Tuesday, 7.72 percent of them came back positive.
