Awamleh, AECID director discuss human rights cooperation

AMMAN - The Government's Coordinator for Human Rights (GCHR) at the Prime Ministry, Nazir Awamleh, on Thursday, discussed with the Director of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), Santiago Moran, ways of joint cooperation in the field of promoting Jordan's human rights.اضافة اعلان
The two officials also discussed ways to support modernizing Jordan's comprehensive national plan for human rights, and future plans and programs that contribute to improving the human rights situation in the Kingdom.

Speaking at the meeting, Awamleh valued the support and services provided by the AECID for Jordan's development in all fields, which would reflect in promoting human rights situation in the Kingdom.

Moran, for his part, reviewed the AECID-funded programs and projects in Jordan in the human rights field, stressing the importance of cooperation with civil society organizations and National Center for Human Rights in this regard.

Moran also expressed readiness to provide the necessary support in updating the Jordan's comprehensive national plan for human rights.

Moran, moreover, pointed to the need to work on empowering Jordanian women politically and economically, highlighting the importance of the youth's role in political participation, which would contribute to developing the human rights situation in the Kingdom.
