The 2025 Annual Traffic Accidents Report, issued by the Public Security Directorate, revealed that Jordan recorded 187,213 traffic accidents during the year, resulting in 510 fatalities and 17,146 injuries.اضافة اعلان

Decline in Overall Accidents and Fatalities

Despite a noticeable spike in accidents during March—which coincided with the holy month of Ramadan, accounting for 10.3% of total incidents—the report showed an overall decline. Traffic accidents dropped by more than 1.6% compared to 2024, while fatalities decreased by 6.1% over the same period.

Out of the total accidents, 11,680 involved human injuries, including:

909 severe injuries
6,357 moderate injuries
9,880 minor injuries
Types of Accidents

The report indicated that collision accidents made up the majority at 56.8%, followed by pedestrian accidents at 37.5%, and rollovers at 5.7%.

In terms of severity:

Minor injuries: 47.4%
Moderate injuries: 41.8%
Severe injuries: 6.8%
Fatal accidents: 4.0%
Timing of Accidents

Thursday recorded the highest number of accidents (15.6%), while Friday had the lowest (13.1%).

Collisions peaked on Thursdays (15.8%)
Pedestrian accidents peaked on Wednesdays (16%)
Rollovers peaked on Thursdays (17.2%)

The most dangerous time period was between 6:00 PM and midnight, accounting for:

38.6% of fatalities
41.6% of severe injuries
37.9% of moderate injuries
Geographic Distribution

The report showed that 91.2% of injury-related accidents occurred داخل المدن (within urban areas). Collisions accounted for 90.3% of city accidents, while pedestrian accidents made up 95.7%.

By governorate:

Amman ranked first with 40.7% of total accidents
Irbid followed with 17.4%
Zarqa ranked third with 10.9%

Despite lower accident rates elsewhere, rollover accidents remained relatively high in Mafraq (10.1%) and Ma’an (11%).

Growing Challenges

The report also highlighted that the number of registered vehicles in Jordan reached 2,115,356, in addition to 874,072 foreign vehicles entering the Kingdom during 2025. This increase adds pressure on traffic management and underscores the need for improved infrastructure and stricter monitoring systems.
