An attempt to get more details about the nature of trade exchange from the Department of Statistics was met with the explanation that trade between Jordan and Israel should be considered separately from that Palestine in terms of volume.

In the first quarter of 2022, potassium hydroxide (caustic potash) topped the list of Jordanian exports to Israel, exceeding JD5.8 million, followed by fresh or chilled vegetables, at JD4.9 million.

The value of total exports to Israel in the first quarter of this year amounted to about JD24.5 million, while the Kingdom imported JD168 million worth of goods from Israel.

According to Fredman’s tweet, bilateral trade with Arab nations “smashed records in June, when it witnessed many exciting developments in the areas of innovation, diplomacy, and academia”.

Trade with the UAE reached $201.4 million in May, a 130 percent increase over May last year; with Egypt, $23.6 million, 41 percent more than in May 2021; with Bahrain $1.2 million this May compared with no trade at all last May; and with Morocco $3.1 million, a 94 percent increase over the same month last year.
