Santiago, Chile – Morocco claimed the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup, held in Chile, after Yassir Zoubiri scored twice in the first half to lead his team to a 2-0 victory over Argentina in the final at the Estadio Nacional Julio Martínez Prádanos early Monday.اضافة اعلان

With this win, Morocco became the first Arab country to lift the U-20 World Cup and the second African nation after Ghana’s triumph in 2009. It also marks Morocco as the ninth different team to win the tournament in the last nine editions.

Zoubiri opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a stunning free-kick from the edge of the penalty area. He doubled the lead in the 29th minute after Othman Maama launched a counterattack on the right flank and delivered a cross that Zoubiri finished with a close-range left-foot strike.

Argentina posed little threat throughout the match, with their best chance coming in the final minute of the first half when substitute Mateo Silvetti shot just wide.

Morocco’s defense remained solid in the second half, thwarting all Argentine attempts to reduce the deficit. Goalkeeper Ibrahim Gomez shone, saving a header from Ian Sobiabri in stoppage time.

This defeat marks Argentina’s second loss in a U-20 World Cup final, despite holding a record six titles, the first being a 1-0 loss to Brazil in 1983.
