Lionel Messi is close to finalizing a deal to buy CD Eldense, a Spanish second-division club, adding it to his growing portfolio of club ownership, according to several Spanish media reports.

According to the reports, Messi has agreed in principle to acquire all the shares held by the club's majority owner (TH Soluciones S.A.S. group). The deal is expected to be officially announced in the coming days.
The Colombian investment group, which acquired Eldense in October 2025, will transfer its entire stake to Messi. The deal still requires approval from Spain's Higher Sports Council (CSD).
Messi, who recently retired from international football, had already acquired UE Cornellà, a club competing in Spain's fifth division, on April 16.
He is also set to receive a stake in Inter Miami once his playing contract with the club ends.
Eldense is based in the city of Elda, home to around 55,000 people, in the province of Alicante in eastern Spain.
The club has spent most of its history in the lower divisions but has played in the second division in three of the past four seasons thanks to fresh investment.
Eldense sacked coach Claudio Barragán last Sunday after picking up just two points from their first four league matches, leaving them 20th out of 22 teams.
