The new member of the BMW X5 family, in its second generation, belongs to the iPerformance family of plug-in hybrid models from all standard BMWs model family: the all-new X5 xDrive45e, which represents a return to BMW core values: performance and control, while at the same time achieving a new breakthrough in the field of fuel economy, performance efficiency, and environmental responsibility.اضافة اعلان

The main component of the X5 xDrive45e is the regenerative hybrid powertrain system, which consists of a 3.0-liter in-line six-cylinder engine with twin turbo, and a hybrid system that generates a combined power of 394hp, with better and cleaner performance in terms of emissions that are harmful to the environment, which have been reduced significantly, compared to the previous model.

This unique model belongs to the modern SUV class of Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV), with plug-in hybrid technology, combining the strength and capability that are the hallmarks of the BMW brand, with the efficiency of a modern vehicle with advanced BMW iPerformance technology.

The new BMW X5 xDrive45e iPerformance delivers on the promise of driving pleasure, with an active start from 0-100 km/h in 5.6 seconds; a full second less than the previous model. This unique vehicle is also faster in terms of top speed when traveling with electric only, as it reaches 140 km/hour instead of 12km/hour, while the range on electric power reaches 80km on a full battery charge, which is a great breakthrough and remarkable progress when compared with the range of the previous model, i.e. the first generation of the X5 hybrid, which had a range of no more than 30km/h.

A very shocking figure with the BMW X5 xDrive45e iPerformance is the average fuel consumption per 100km of mileage, which is only 2.1 liters — yes you read it right, a medium-large SUV that travels 100km with only two liters of fuel! It's German technology at its best. The carbon footprint of the BMW X5 xDrive45e iPerformance, i.e. its CO2 exhaust, is just 49g/km, yet another impressive number.

These amazing achievements in terms of efficiency, performance and consumption did not come out of nowhere, the new hybrid system takes full credit; it consists of a three-liter in-line six-cylinder engine that generates 210kW, equivalent to 286hp, in addition to an electrical motor system from the family of the eDrive from BMW generates 82kW (112hp), and the hybrid system includes an advanced lithium-ion battery with charging and storage capabilities and an energy management system, all of these elements working together to produce an impressive power output while saving fuel and reducing exhaust like never before, The combined engine and electrical system amounts to 290kW, equivalent to 394hp, as well as torque of up to 600Nm, which are impressive and surprising numbers for a hybrid car of this class.

The power transmission is done via an eight-speed Steptronic automatic transmission that shifts the movement to all four wheels via The intelligent permanent all-wheel drive BMW xDrive, and this system, which we called intelligent for a good reason, transfers the movement to the four wheels smoothly when traveling with electric power, or when traveling with the fuel engine, or even when traveling with both the engine and electric motor, which ensures distinctive performance on the road and even off the road, with a top speed of 235km/hour.

The location of the hybrid battery at the bottom of the car is and added advantage, as it significantly boosts the center of gravity of the vehicle compared to the petrol model, without affecting the rear luggage space in the trunk, which is reduced by only 150 liters. Compared to the "regular" X5, the standard luggage space without the seats folded is 500 liters. It increases to 1,716 liters with the seats folded. Meanwhile, the fuel tank capacity is 69 liters, making long-distance travel possible.

Among the other features of the BMW X5 xDrive45e iPerformance is the optional two-axle air suspension and electronically controlled dampers, as well as an integral active steering system, as well as a host of advanced electronic connectivity systems, including systems developed specifically for electric and hybrid cars, such as the smart navigation system that helps the hybrid system determine energy needs and enables pre-planning of trips when setting destinations, so that the system provides geographical data for the proposed route from the navigation system, in addition to giving  information on available charging points within the route area.

Of course, the BMW X5 xDrive45e iPerformance does not suffer from a lack of luxury or equipment; all the comfort and luxury elements offered in the X5 are available, even if at an extra cost.

The BMW X5 xDrive45e iPerformance is one of the most prominent hybrid options in the mid-luxury SUV segment, and is certainly  the least consuming and most efficient among all its competitors.
