Many women—especially those with oily skin—struggle with unwanted shine appearing just a few hours after applying makeup. This not only affects makeup longevity but also diminishes the overall polished look.

In this context, beauty experts from the "Women's Beauty" section share their top practical tips for maintaining a smooth, velvety complexion throughout the day, without needing to reapply makeup multiple times.
A skincare specialist emphasized that the most crucial step begins with proper skin preparation before applying makeup. This includes cleansing the face with a cleanser formulated for oily skin, applying a pore-tightening toner, followed by a mattifying primer to reduce oil production.
Al-Otaibi added that one of the best quick fixes during the day is using blotting papers, which gently absorb excess oil without disturbing the makeup. Additionally, applying an oil-free translucent setting powder helps keep the makeup in place and control shine.
She also recommended using a mattifying setting spray, which locks in makeup for extended hours and minimizes shine—especially in the T-zone, which includes the forehead, nose, and chin.
Experts stress that using beauty products specifically designed for oily skin—free from oils and heavy fragrances—is key to maintaining a balanced and healthy appearance.
Al-Otaibi concluded: “Excess shine can ruin the beauty of your makeup, but with the right steps and proper care, every woman can maintain her radiant look for as long as possible without constant touch-ups.”
