The ministry’s spokesperson, Yanal Al-Barmawi, said that the number of commercial registrations last year—namely sole proprietorships—reached 25,600, compared with 21,499 during the same period in 2024, reflecting clear growth in commercial registration activity.

He noted that the Central Commercial Registry Directorate recorded 10,023 trade names during the same period in 2025, compared with 7,586 trade names during the same period last year, indicating an increase in economic activity and entrepreneurship.

Al-Barmawi added that 228 commercial agencies were registered, along with 44 commercial agents and brokers, and that approximately 11,089 trade names were amended.

The directorate works to create a suitable investment and commercial environment that encourages the establishment of industries, crafts, and commercial professions, and facilitates the conduct of business for commercial agents and brokers smoothly and efficiently.

To this end, the directorate publicizes the names of traders and commercial establishments to enhance confidence in commercial transactions and protect the rights of traders and their clients. It also publicizes rights over movable assets to help buyers and financiers make informed financing or purchasing decisions, and to notify them of any existing claims on movable property.
