The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) noted that Iran reported the targeting of the Khuzestan steel production plant last week. The facility utilizes sealed radioactive sources—specifically Cobalt-60 and Cesium-137—for industrial measurement purposes.
"All units and steelmaking furnaces in this industrial complex have been damaged," said Mehran Pakbin, Deputy Director of Operations. He added that repair efforts will rely on domestic capabilities.
