Eight people were injured in a shooting Tuesday morning outside a secondary school in Turgutlu district of Manisa province, western Turkey, while security forces arrested the suspected attacker.

The shooting occurred at around 8:00 a.m. local time outside the Inci Umz Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in the Albayrak neighborhood, according to Turkish media reports citing the Manisa Governor's Office.
The governor's office said the initial death toll was eight injured people, all of whom were taken to nearby medical facilities. Security forces arrested the suspect after he fled the scene.
Local media reported that surveillance footage showed a young man carrying a rifle and opening fire. His identity and the motive for the attack have not yet been established.
Ihlas News Agency reported that the suspect opened fire randomly around the school for reasons that remain unclear before police and emergency teams arrived at the scene.
Parents gathered outside the school after learning of the incident, and a confrontation occurred between some parents and security forces after several attempted to enter the school grounds. Police subsequently stepped up security measures in the area.
The Manisa Governor's Office said a judicial and administrative investigation has been launched into the incident, adding that further information would be released as it becomes available.
