Indonesian media reported that more than three million people have been affected by the floods, which submerged large residential areas and infrastructure, and disrupted road and communication networks—further complicating the delivery of aid to the hardest-hit regions.
A large number of residents have also been forced to flee their homes after they were damaged and essential services were cut off. Authorities are working to establish emergency shelters and provide basic necessities, while continued warnings highlight the risk of rising water levels due to ongoing rainfall.
