Weather on Tuesday will be relatively hot in the highlands and plains, while it will be very hot in the Badia, Jordan Valley, Dead Sea and Aqaba.
Winds will be moderate, northeasterly to northwesterly, becoming more active in the afternoon and raising dust, particularly in the Badia areas.
Maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to range as follows:
* East Amman: 36°C / 23°C
* West Amman: 34°C / 22°C
* Northern Highlands: 32°C / 21°C
* Sharah Highlands: 33°C / 19°C
* Badia: 40°C / 23°C
* Plains: 35°C / 21°C
* Northern Jordan Valley: 42°C / 26°C
* Southern Jordan Valley: 44°C / 29°C
* Dead Sea: 43°C / 28°C
* Gulf of Aqaba: 43°C / 29°C
The Jordan Meteorological Department warned in its report against prolonged exposure to direct sunlight during peak hours, particularly in the Badia, Jordan Valley, Dead Sea and Aqaba.
It also warned of reduced horizontal visibility due to dust in the Badia, and urged people not to leave children or elderly people inside closed vehicles. The department also called on the public not to light fires or leave fire remains unattended in forested areas.
On Wednesday, temperatures will drop slightly. Weather on Wednesday and Thursday will remain relatively hot in the highlands and plains, hot in the Badia, and very hot in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea and Aqaba.
Winds will be moderate northwesterlies, becoming more active in the afternoon and raising dust, particularly in the Badia.
On Friday, temperatures will drop slightly, returning to around their climatic averages for this time of year. The weather will be normal summer weather across most areas, while remaining hot in the Badia, Jordan Valley, Dead Sea and Aqaba.
Low-level clouds are also expected to appear, while winds will be moderate, northeasterly to northwesterly, becoming active at times and occasionally raising dust, particularly in the Badia.
