The death toll from the floods and landslides that struck Indonesia’s Sumatra Island has risen to 631 people, with one million displaced, according to a report issued Tuesday by the National Disaster Management Agency.اضافة اعلان

The agency added that 472 people remain missing, while 2,600 others have been injured across three provinces on the island, located in the western part of the archipelago.

More than 3.3 million people have been affected by the floods, the agency stated, noting that one million residents were evacuated and moved to temporary shelters.

Floods and landslides that swept through Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka over the past week have resulted in approximately 1,200 deaths, with hundreds still missing.
