According to China’s Xinhua News Agency, the government stated that the bridge stretches 2,890 meters in length with a main span of 1,420 meters, and rises 625 meters above the river surface.
The opening of the bridge set two world records, making it both the highest bridge in the world and the largest bridge by main span ever built in a mountainous area.
The project achieved multiple technological milestones, including wind resistance design and construction at extreme altitudes. It secured 21 certified patents, with many of its technical innovations incorporated into China’s national bridge-building standards.
Guizhou Province is home to more than 32,000 bridges that have been completed or are under construction, including the world’s three tallest bridges. Nearly half of the world’s 100 tallest bridges are located in the province.
