The United Arab Emirates has condemned, in the strongest possible terms, the treacherous terrorist attacks carried out by drones originating from Iraqi territory, one of which targeted the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant last Sunday, striking an electrical generator outside the facility's inner perimeter.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the country's "strongest condemnation and absolute rejection of the heinous terrorist attacks launched from Iraqi territory, which target vital civilian facilities within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states." The Ministry described these actions as "a flagrant violation of its sovereignty and airspace, and a clear breach of the provisions of international law, international humanitarian law, and the United Nations Charter."
The Ministry emphasized "the necessity for the Government of the Republic of Iraq to commit to urgently, unconditionally, and without restriction, preventing all hostile acts originating from its territory." It further stressed "the need to address these threats urgently, immediately, and responsibly, in a manner consistent with relevant international and regional laws and charters."
Additionally, the Ministry underscored "the importance of Iraq fulfilling its role in consolidating security and stability in the region, in a way that safeguards its sovereignty and enhances its position as an active and responsible partner within its regional surroundings."
