TEL AVIV — Avigdor Lieberman, the chairman of the Yisrael Beiteinu party, stated that "war is Netanyahu's means of staying in power" criticizing Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, during an interview with Israeli radio station Reshet Bet. اضافة اعلان

"There is a confused war cabinet here that does not understand what it is doing and where it leads" He added, "A war on Yom Kippur should not have lasted 19 days, and here we are fighting for 74 days, still in the consolidation phase in the north. We cannot ignore Hezbollah's supporters as well,” Al-Ghad reported.

Lieberman’s criticism comes at a time when internal Israeli disagreements increase over Netanyahu's management and exploitation of the war for his agenda.

On Monday, the Israeli newspaper Haaretz stated that Netanyahu's strategy in the current war on Gaza is "to continue fighting," acknowledging a decline in popular support tainted with doubts and concerns.

According to the newspaper, Netanyahu will face backlash in the upcoming stage of the war, as he will find it difficult to explain the war's objectives to Israelis if he does not achieve clear accomplishments on the ground.

Netanyahu caused a lot of damage to Israel during the war on Gaza according to the former head of the Israeli Mossad, Dani Yatom.

On Saturday, families of Israeli prisoners detained by Hamas held protests; demanding an Israeli initiative to retrieve them, reports the Israeli newspaper Maariv.

They urged the Israeli government for action, suggesting a new exchange deal with Hamas to release their families.

Recently, the killing of three Israeli prisoners in the Shuja'iyya neighborhood, east of Gaza City, by the occupational forces increased internal pressure on the Israeli government, according to the American newspaper, the New York Times "[fueling] settlers' doubts about Netanyahu."

Israeli media spoke of escalating disputes amongst Israeli settlers regarding the continuation of the war.

Families of Israeli soldiers killed in the war demand for the fighting to continue, while families of prisoners in Gaza oppose it; fearing for the fate of their sons.
