The announcement came during his meeting with UN Secretary-General António Guterres on the sidelines of the 47th ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.

In a statement from the Prime Minister’s office, Anwar Ibrahim said: “Malaysia reaffirms its firm support for the Palestinian struggle and welcomes the consistent stance of the United Nations and the International Court of Justice ruling that Israel’s blockade of humanitarian aid to Gaza constitutes a violation of international law.”

The meeting with Guterres also aimed to strengthen Malaysia–UN cooperation, including the ASEAN–UN partnership.

According to media reports, the Trump administration is considering forming an international force that could include Egypt, Indonesia, and Gulf countries, while excluding U.S. troops from deployment in Gaza.

It remains unclear which Arab or other countries would participate on the ground, amid Israeli reservations regarding the composition of such a force.
