Israeli jets pound targets in Gaza Strip

GAZA STRIP — Israeli war planes carried out heavy bombardment of Gaza Strip Saturday afternoon, after it announced the start of Operation “Iron Swords” against the Hamas movement.اضافة اعلان

The Israeli attack was in response to Al-Qassam Brigades' Operation “Al-Aqsa Flood”, which it said was in response to Israeli violations, especially in East Jerusalem.

Al-Mamlaka's correspondent heard violent explosions in the besieged sector.  The Israeli occupation forces renewed their bombing of the Gaza Strip after successive raids earlier Saturday.


 A number of Palestinians, including a paramedic, were injured, and “some of them were seriously injured,” after an Israeli warplane bombed an ambulance belonging to the Palestinian Red Crescent, in front of Nasser Hospital in the city of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, according to the official Palestinian Wafa Agency.

An Israeli fighter jet targeted an ambulance vehicle in front of Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis with a single missile, wounding a number of Palestinians, some of them in serious condition.

Israeli aircraft bombed agricultural lands and a site in Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip.

 Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant said that Hamas is waging a "war" against Israel after launching a barrage of rockets and carrying out a series of infiltration on neighboring Israeli settlements. 

The Israeli army said Hamas launched approximately 2200 shells and missiles on cities in central and southern Israel, noting that it had “summoned large forces to the southern region and declared a state of emergency."
