The strike followed a warning from the Israeli occupation army spokesperson, stating that the military would target "infrastructure belonging to the Al-Qard Al-Hassan Association," a Hezbollah-affiliated financial institution with branches in several areas, particularly within the party's strongholds.

Israel and the United States have been conducting airstrikes on Iran since Saturday, February 28, which resulted in the death of the Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Since then, Tehran has retaliated by striking Israel and other countries in the region with missiles and drones.

Iran has also enforced a naval blockade on vessel transit through the Strait of Hormuz and targeted oil tankers attempting to pass through.

On March 1, Hezbollah launched several missiles from Lebanon targeting northern Israel in response to Khamenei's assassination. This escalated the situation into an open war between Israel and Lebanon, with the former carrying out devastating strikes on southern Lebanon and Beirut's southern suburbs. — (AFP)
