A source stated that Israeli airstrikes targeted eastern Khan Yunis, while the Israeli army also demolished residential buildings east of Gaza City. An Israeli drone, Quadcopter, dropped bombs on the eastern Al-Bureij refugee camp (central Gaza), while artillery and tank fire continued around Khan Yunis. Local sources confirmed ongoing demolitions of residential buildings in eastern Al-Bureij.

The hostilities followed a ceasefire agreement under the Trump Peace Plan, which ended a two-year Israeli extermination campaign on Gaza that began on October 7, 2023, with U.S. support. This campaign resulted in over 68,000 deaths, more than 170,000 injuries (mostly women and children), and the destruction of 90% of civilian infrastructure, with UN-estimated reconstruction costs of nearly $70 billion.

Examination of Three Detainees’ Bodies

The Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported that the Red Cross handed over three detainee bodies to the Israeli army for identification. It remains unclear if these bodies belong to Israelis among the 11 detainees still in Gaza.

Channel 13 (Israel) reported that Hamas informed the Red Cross that it does not know the identities of these bodies but suggested that Israel conduct the tests. The Israeli army stated that at least some bodies may soon be handed over by Hamas, while Hamas remains uncertain about the location of 3–5 additional bodies.

These developments followed Israel receiving two detainee bodies (Amiram Cooper and Saher Baruch) from Gaza the previous day after official identification. Since the ceasefire, Hamas has handed over 20 live Israelis and 19 bodies out of 28 detainees, mostly Israeli, according to Hamas. Israel previously claimed that one of the bodies received did not match any of its detainees.

This forms the first phase of the ceasefire and detainee exchange agreement between Hamas and Israel, which went into effect on October 10, 2025. Israel has conditioned the second phase of negotiations on receiving the remaining bodies, while Hamas noted that extracting them will take time due to Gaza’s extensive destruction.

Meanwhile, 9,500 Palestinian missing persons are reportedly under debris left by the Israeli army, and over 10,000 Palestinian prisoners, including children and women, remain in Israeli jails suffering from torture, starvation, and medical neglect, according to Gaza’s Government Media Office.
