The Madaba Water Administration is overseeing the execution of a package of water and wastewater pipeline projects aimed at improving services across various parts of the governorate, strengthening infrastructure, boosting water supply efficiency, and enhancing service levels for citizens, at a total cost of nearly 4 million JOD.

In a statement to the Jordan News Agency (Petra), the Executive Assistant at Miyahuna Company, Eng. Mufid Al-Lawzi, stated that the projects focused on extending 180 mm water pipelines in Madaba valued at 50,000 JOD, as well as designing and constructing a 50,000-cubic-meter treated water storage basin at the Madaba purification plant valued at 487,000 JOD.
He added that the executed projects included replacing water pipelines in the areas of Dhiban, Libb, Maliḥ, and Jabal Bani Hamida to improve water supply at a cost of 350,000 JOD, as well as installing 300 mm, 180 mm, and 125 mm water pipelines in various parts of the governorate to serve the Eastern Neighborhood and Falha village at a cost of 450,000 JOD. Additionally, various water pipelines were replaced to enhance water supply in the villages of Afnan, Soufa, Daliyat Al-Mutairat, and the Eastern Neighborhood at a cost of 500,000 JOD.
Furthermore, water lines of various diameters were replaced to improve water supply in Dhiban, Libb, Maliḥ, and Jabal Bani Hamida at a cost of 350,000 JOD.
He explained that 400 mm and 600 mm main sewage transmission lines were installed in the Eastern Neighborhood and the Hanina Al-Kula area to eliminate environmental hazards, valued at 350,000 JOD. In addition, 400 mm, 600 mm, and 300 mm sewage transmission lines were implemented, which included cleaning and inspecting transmission lines in the Eastern Neighborhood and the main line adjacent to Al-Mahabba Hospital, valued at 350,000 JOD. These projects are being funded through the capital budget allocated for the Madaba Administration.
For her part, the Director of Projects at the Madaba Water Administration, Eng. Balqees Al-Tamimi, noted that other projects are being implemented with funding from UNICEF, while others are financed by the Madaba Provincial Council's budget. A sanitation project is currently underway in the Madaba refugee camp with UNICEF funding, involving inspection, main line maintenance, and servicing 9 km of pipelines and 244 manholes, valued at 266,000 JOD.
She added that two projects funded by the Madaba Provincial Council's budget are being executed at a total value of 300,000 JOD: a project for the supply and installation of sewage pipelines valued at 100,000 JOD, and a project to supply water services to areas outside urban planning boundaries in Madaba valued at 200,000 JOD.
