TAL AVIV — Israel's Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has said that Israel’s response in the Gaza Strip will be “remembered for the next 50 years and [Hamas] will regret that they started it.”اضافة اعلان

Speaking in the Israeli settlement of Ofakim, which Hamas fighters had breached on Saturday, capturing a number of settlers and soldiers.

“The rules of war have changed. The price the Gaza Strip will pay will be a very heavy price, that will change reality for generations,” Gallant added.

Israel waged a series of air strikes on the Gaza Strip on Sunday targeting residential buildings and killing more than 500 Palestinians mostly civilians including women and children.

Entire families were wiped out in some of these strikes.

Meanwhile, the Biden administration is working to fulfill Israel’s request to urgently transfer weapons to Tel Aviv, according to US officials.

Israeli officials have asked the US to transfer specific weapons systems.

The weapons transfers could be part of a new package of assistance for Israel, which Secretary of State Antony Blinken told CNN Sunday morning the administration would make public later in the day.
