BRUSSELS
– On Saturday,
Josep Borrell, the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs,
accused the Israeli occupation of continuing to target civilians in Gaza and
pushing them toward the Egyptian border, Jo24 reported.

Borrell
noted that Israel's continued attacks are worsening the
humanitarian situation in Gaza. He added that Israel continues to attack civilians in Gaza by pressing
them to the Egyptian border, with an estimated one million Palestinians being
forced further south.
He
noted that, despite Israel's assurances of "
safe zones," the
bombardment continues to target civilians.
In regards to other escalations in the Middle East, Borrell
stated that he will be attending an informal meeting with EU foreign ministers
to address the escalating tensions following the US airstrikes in Iraq and
Syria in response to the attack on the US base on the
Jordanian-Syrian border.
“Everything
in the Middle East is interconnected like a domino effect. To solve one
problem, it is necessary to address the other,” Borrell stated.
