Hezbollah Deputy Secretary-General Naim Qassem affirmed on Sunday that Israeli threats will not lead the Lebanese group to surrender or abandon its weapons, amid ongoing U.S. pressure calling for Hezbollah’s disarmament.

In a televised speech marking Ashura, Qassem stated:
“These threats will not make Hezbollah accept surrender.”
He added:
“They shouldn't be telling us to soften our stance — they should be telling the aggressor to stop. Don’t tell us to give up our weapons.”
His remarks come at a time of heightened regional tension and ongoing Israeli airstrikes, including recent attacks on Beirut’s southern suburbs.
