The official Iranian news agency (IRNA) quoted Tehran Governor Mohammad Sadiq Motamedian stating, "Due to damages sustained by the fuel supply network, distribution has been temporarily halted."

Joint U.S. and Israeli raids overnight targeted four oil depots and a logistics site used for transporting petroleum products in the Tehran metropolitan area. Keramat Veis-Karami, Director General of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC), told state television that Israeli and American aircraft targeted four oil storage facilities and a distribution center in central Tehran and Alborz.

He reported the deaths of four company employees, including two drivers, noting that all five facilities were "damaged" but confirmed that the resulting "fires are under control."

Regional Context and Conflict Escalation
The United States and Israel have been conducting airstrikes on Iran since Saturday, February 28, which resulted in the death of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Since then, Tehran has retaliated by targeting Israel and other regional countries with missiles and drones.

Iran has also enforced a naval blockade on vessel transit through the Strait of Hormuz, targeting oil tankers attempting to pass. On Sunday, March 1, Hezbollah launched several rockets from Lebanon toward northern Israel in response to Khamenei’s assassination, drawing Lebanon into an open war with Israel. This has resulted in devastating Israeli raids on Southern Lebanon and the Dahiyeh (Southern Suburbs) of Beirut. (AFP)
