According to the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA), President Abbas expressed hope that these efforts would pave the way toward a lasting political solution that ends the Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands and establishes an independent Palestinian state within the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

He praised the significant efforts made by President Trump and all mediators to reach this agreement, emphasizing Palestine’s readiness to work with mediators and relevant partners to ensure the success of these efforts and achieve lasting and just peace in accordance with international legitimacy.

Abbas stressed the importance of all parties immediately implementing the agreement, releasing all hostages and prisoners, facilitating urgent humanitarian aid through UN agencies, preventing displacement or annexation, and beginning the reconstruction process.

He reaffirmed that sovereignty over the Gaza Strip belongs to the State of Palestine, and that the connection between the West Bank and Gaza must be conducted through Palestinian laws and institutions, via a unified Palestinian administrative committee and security forces, under a single legal system, with Arab and international support.
