WASHINGTON — On Tuesday, the United States rejected growing calls to support a cease-fire in the conflict between Israel and Hamas because, as a White House spokesman, John F. Kirby, pointed out, "A cease-fire, right now, really only benefits Hamas,” New York Times reported. اضافة اعلان

Kirby added, "It is ugly and it’s going to be messy, and innocent civilians are going to be hurt going forward." The spokesman emphasized that the administration supported pauses in the conflict to allow the flow of humanitarian aid and to help facilitate the safe return of hostages and people from Gaza. He also mentioned, "We’re going to continue to make sure Israel has the tools and the capabilities that they need to defend themselves." Moreover, Mr. Kirby stated that the United States had not discussed any red lines with Israel in this matter.
