Naval Mine Explodes Against Oil Tanker in Strait of Hormuz

Iranian news agency Tasnim reported on Sunday that a naval mine exploded against an oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz after the vessel struck it.

The agency added that the tanker collided with the mine after straying from the shipping lane designated by Iran in the strategic waterway.

No official statement has yet been issued by Iranian authorities regarding the incident.

Earlier, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated that no tanker would be able to enter or leave the Strait of Hormuz without coordination with Tehran.
