In statements reported by the Iranian news agency Fars, Nia said that Tehran is taking advantage of the ceasefire opportunity to upgrade its combat capabilities and is not wasting a single moment in this regard.

He added: "We have repeatedly emphasized that we are utilizing the truce period to strengthen our military capabilities, and we will not overlook or waste any time in raising the level of our combat readiness."

The Iranian Army spokesperson stressed that any mistake committed by Washington will face a powerful and decisive response from the Iranian armed forces, affirming that the state of alert and readiness continues to deal with any field developments.

On June 18, Iran and the United States announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) mediated by Qatar and Pakistan, aimed at ending the military confrontation between the two countries and paving the way to reach a final agreement.

The memorandum included a ceasefire, the reopening of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, the easing of restrictions on Iranian oil exports, alongside the initiation of reciprocal confidence-building measures.

Despite the memorandum coming into effect, it still faces challenges regarding implementation mechanisms and compliance with its terms, amid Tehran's assurances that it will abide by the agreement as long as the other party fulfills its commitments, while warning that it stands ready to return to confrontation if the agreed obligations are not fully implemented.
