An explosion occurred at one of the Syrian army’s positions near the town of Al-Eis, south of Aleppo, late Sunday night into Monday, leaving several people injured, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).
SANA quoted Aleppo Civil Defense as saying that a number of people were injured in the explosions. Faisal Mohammad Ali, head of operations at the Aleppo Emergency and Disaster Management Directorate, said Civil Defense teams entered the explosion site and evacuated four injured people.
Ali said that continuing explosions in the Al-Eis area were hampering the efforts of ambulance and rescue teams to reach the site.
He added that ambulance and emergency teams, as well as hospitals, were on standby, noting that the relevant authorities were monitoring the situation on the ground and responding to any emergency.
SANA had earlier reported hearing a powerful explosion in the Al-Eis area south of Aleppo without initially identifying its cause. It later reported that the explosion occurred at one of the Syrian army’s positions near the town.
