In a statement, the Central Bank said the decision was in line with its primary objective of maintaining monetary stability and enhancing the attractiveness of the Jordanian dinar and the competitiveness of dinar-denominated assets by aligning domestic interest rates with prevailing trends in regional and international financial markets.

The decision followed the committee’s review of key economic, monetary and fiscal developments at the domestic, regional and international levels, as well as monetary policy directions adopted by central banks and measures taken to address growing inflationary pressures.

Domestically, Jordan’s inflation rate reached 2.20% during the first eight months of 2026, compared with 1.86% during the same period last year.

The latest indicators point to resilient monetary and banking conditions in the Kingdom and continued recovery in economic activity. Tourism income grew by 2.9% during the first eight months of the year, reaching approximately $5.6 billion, driven by a notable improvement over the past three months, when average growth stood at around 17%.

Remittances from Jordanians working abroad also continued to perform strongly, rising by 14.1% during the first seven months of the year to approximately $3 billion.

National exports increased by 7.2% over the same period, reaching $6.6 billion.

The Central Bank reaffirmed that it would continue monitoring economic and monetary developments, assessing their impact on the national economy and taking the necessary measures to preserve monetary and financial stability and contribute to strengthening the resilience of the national economy.
