The seasonal trivalent influenza vaccine is expected to become available in Jordan’s private sector next October, Jordan Pharmacists Association President Zaid Al-Kilani said.

Speaking to Al Mamlaka, Al-Kilani said around 100,000 doses of the influenza vaccine will be available through the public sector, in addition to further quantities to be supplied to pharmacies across the Kingdom’s private sector.
He explained that the vaccine sold at pharmacies will be subject to pricing set by the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA).
The JFDA told Al Mamlaka that the price of the trivalent influenza vaccine is JD 8.04 per dose, while the quadrivalent vaccine costs JD 9.48.
Seasonal influenza is a highly contagious viral respiratory disease. The Ministry of Health recommends receiving the seasonal influenza vaccine at the beginning of each winter season, particularly for groups at higher risk of complications.
These include people with chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and cancer, as well as dialysis patients, pregnant women, older adults, healthcare workers, people with weakened immune systems, thalassemia patients, and children aged 6 months to 5 years.
According to Ministry of Health data included in a report monitoring the implementation of its 2023–2025 strategic plan, the ministry adopted a clear national policy for seasonal influenza vaccination and established a unified national database of vaccine recipients.
The report also showed that the entire approved supply of 75,000 doses was administered during 2025.
Ministry of Health guidelines further state that healthcare workers should receive the seasonal influenza vaccine annually, in a single dose.
