A new scientific study has found that just 75 minutes of moderate physical activity per week—approximately 11 minutes per day—can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease by 17%, cancer by 7%, and early death by 23%.اضافة اعلان

According to the New York Post, these activities include gardening, mowing the lawn, yoga, brisk walking, tango dancing, and water aerobics.

The research team pointed out that they reached these results after analyzing data from more than 30 million people.

They emphasized that while their findings show that just 11 minutes of these activities daily provide significant health benefits, they also found that “higher activity levels were associated with a decreased risk of death from all causes.”

Dr. James Woodcock, a co-author of the study and professor at the Clinical School of Medicine at the University of Cambridge, said in a press statement: "We know that physical activity, such as walking or cycling, is good for you, especially if you feel it raising your heart rate. But what we found is that there are significant benefits for heart health and reduced cancer risk even if you can’t do more than 11 minutes of moderate-intensity activities daily."

These results are consistent with previous research, including a recent study that found that just two and a half hours of brisk walking per week can reduce the risk of early death by a remarkable 31%.

Another recent study suggests that just five minutes of bodyweight exercises (such as push-ups and planks) daily can greatly improve heart health, muscle strength, and flexibility.

In addition to reducing the chances of early death, research has shown that walking can help with weight loss, improve digestion, boost memory and mood, and strengthen the immune system.

Moreover, walking is a low-impact, easily accessible exercise that nearly anyone can do for free.
