Egyptian actress Caroline Azmi has managed to etch her name among leading actresses through her television roles. Ever since her debut in the series El-Ab El-Rouhi (The Godfather), she has remained in viewers' minds, following up with notable roles in Abo El-Arousa (Father of the Bride) and Fahd El-Batal (Fahd the Hero), among others. Now, she has decided to knock on cinema's doors through the film Mahmoud El-Thani (Mahmoud the Second), in which she plays the female lead alongside Ahmed Ghozzi and Ahmed Bahr.

In exclusive statements to Al Arabiya.net and Al Hadath.net, Caroline Azmi shared that she still feels intense terror due to Mahmoud El-Thani, particularly since it marks her first cinematic experience—a medium entirely different from television drama, where success is often harder to achieve as it relies on box office sales and theater attendance.
Azmi added that she aspired to enter the cinema world through a major gateway, which materialized with Mahmoud El-Thani, especially as it is produced by a prominent company with a strong reputation in the artistic community. Consequently, she did not hesitate for a moment to accept the role upon being nominated.
She continued that the film also stars actors of her generation with whom she shares strong relationships; she previously worked with Ahmed Ghozzi on the series Ra's El-A'fa (Head of the Snake), and discovered Ahmed Bahr's personality during filming, leading to a very good friendship. Thus, the project holds a special place for her and will remain closest to her heart as her cinematic debut.
Azmi revealed that she is currently experiencing a major artistic boom, co-starring in the play El-Sahel El-Shereer (The Evil Coast) alongside Ashraf Abdel Baqi and Ahmed Abdel Wahab. The play, performing in the North Coast region of the Matrouh Governorate, has achieved immense success and kept her continuously present in the North Coast, allowing her to spend time with her family members who are also staying there.
She added that she faced a near-drowning incident a few days ago alongside her young nephew. Since she cannot swim, she decided to enter the sea with the child, only to be surprised by high waves and an inability to return to the shore. She screamed hysterically, catching the attention of her brother who was nearby; he rushed to her side and rescued them. Following the event, she decided to learn how to swim to avoid falling into such a life-threatening situation again.
Regarding her personal life, Azmi emphasized that she consistently keeps her private life away from media spotlights and does not mix it with her work as an actress, particularly since she comes from a family outside the artistic field, with her father's work being entirely detached from the limelight.
As for her potential participation in the series Sultan El-Deeb alongside actor Ahmed El-Awady—scheduled to air next Ramadan—Azmi confirmed she has not made a final decision yet. The matter depends on the quality of the role offered, her professional schedule, and existing commitments. However, she expressed no objection to the project, especially having achieved great success in television drama and previously co-starring with Ahmed El-Awady in several successful works.
