The Board of Directors of the Jordanian Association of Visual Artists has unanimously voted to appoint Jordanian businessman Abbab Al-Ezza, CEO of Al-Ezza Investment Group, as the association's honorary president for the 2026–2028 term.

The decision was made during a meeting bringing together Al-Ezza with association president, artist Ghazi Anaim, and board members Mohammad Al-Khatib, Ali Abu Annan, Ahmad Al-Nashash, Anwar Haddadin, Damaris Azar, and Yasmine Al-Sahouri.
The board's selection of Al-Ezza came in recognition of his standing and experience in the business and hospitality sectors, and out of a belief in the need to build effective partnerships between the cultural and private sectors that serve the association and Jordan's visual arts movement, drawing on national expertise and moving beyond traditional support toward creating real opportunities for artists through upcoming projects.
For his part, Al-Ezza expressed his interest in the board's vision and future plans, praising its efforts and its mission to spread artistic culture, affirming his commitment to supporting the association's programs and promoting artists' work, and expressing his pride in this gesture while commending the board's dedication to serving the association and Jordan's visual arts movement locally, regionally, and internationally.
Al-Ezza said: "The Jordanian visual artist represents a fundamental pillar in building national awareness and preserving artistic and cultural identity," adding that supporting visual artists strengthens Jordan's standing in the visual arts and cements its presence on the cultural map, affirming the importance of this partnership in keeping pace with the aspirations of the coming period.
Al-Ezza also stressed that investment in the visual arts represents an important contributor to the national economy and a driver of art tourism, noting that exhibitions, art gatherings, conferences, and seminars have become essential elements in showcasing Jordan's civilizational identity, while also expressing his support for the younger generation.
Association president, artist Ghazi Anaim, affirmed the importance of strengthening the association's presence on the local and Arab visual arts scene, and intensifying cooperation with various national institutions, particularly the Ministry of Culture and the Greater Amman Municipality, as key pillars for advancing the visual arts movement and providing a supportive environment for it, in a way that helps energize it and cement the visual arts' standing as a national mission that reinforces the Jordanian narrative.
Anaim added: "The board was filled with joy at choosing Al-Ezza as honorary president of the association, a role he graciously agreed to accept out of belief in art's mission and its role in building society, not in search of visibility or fame; he is a national figure and businessman known for his esteemed standing. His acceptance came out of genuine love for art, and his conviction that supporting Jordanian artists and advancing the visual arts movement is a shared responsibility, and that the private sector has a genuine role to play in supporting national creativity, stemming from its responsibility toward everything that constitutes cultural, artistic, and civilizational value for Jordan."
Anaim concluded his remarks by affirming that this meeting with businessman Abbab Al-Ezza will positively impact development projects aimed at establishing a sustainable visual arts movement that contributes to the development of both place and people, especially given the challenges posed by limited financial resources in carrying out the association's programs.
