The head of the Ajloun Greater Municipality Committee, Eng. Mohammad Al-Bashabsha, said that the municipality, in cooperation with the Ministries of Tourism and Agriculture, is implementing several projects and activities to sustain public services and improve the infrastructure in tourist areas.
Meanwhile, Director of Ajloun’s Directorate of Culture, Samer Freihat, emphasized the directorate’s commitment to organizing cultural and artistic events at tourist sites to strengthen the presence of culture in the tourism scene and encourage visitors to explore Ajloun’s cultural heritage.
He added that the directorate, in collaboration with local community organizations and tourism bodies, aims to establish an integrated model of cultural tourism that highlights the governorate’s identity and enriches the visitor experience.
For his part, Fawaz Freihat, a member of the Environment Unites Us initiative, said that Wadi Al-Sakhneh represents a living model of Ajloun’s environmental diversity, stressing the importance of protecting this unique natural resource from any practices that could threaten its ecological balance.
Meanwhile, Eng. Ibtihal Al-Samadi, head of the Ajloun Green Association, noted that Wadi Al-Sakhneh possesses strong potential for eco-therapy and wellness tourism in Jordan. She explained that the warm temperature of its waters offers visitors a distinctive experience rarely found in other locations.
She emphasized the need for greater attention from relevant authorities in terms of tourism promotion and the development of essential facilities, such as safe walking trails, rest areas, and organized camping zones — all of which would enhance eco-tourism and support the local community.
It is worth noting that Wadi Al-Sakhneh is among the few sites in northern Jordan where warm water flows year-round, giving it exceptional environmental and tourism value that merits further care and promotion.
