Trump Threatens Tariffs on Countries With Digital Taxes
Former U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday threatened to impose additional tariffs on goods from countries that enforce digital taxes unless such laws are repealed.اضافة اعلان

Sources earlier reported that the Trump administration was considering sanctions against EU officials or member states responsible for implementing the EU's Digital Services Act.

Several countries—particularly in Europe—have imposed taxes on the revenues of digital service providers, including Google (owned by Alphabet), Facebook (owned by Meta), as well as Apple and Amazon. This issue has long been a point of contention for various U.S. administrations.

In a social media post, Trump warned:

“I caution all countries with digital taxes, regulations, or legislation that if these discriminatory measures are not removed, I will, as President of the United States, impose large additional tariffs on that country’s exports to the U.S. and restrict the export of our technology and chips.”

He added that such laws are “designed to harm or discriminate against American tech” and ultimately benefit competing Chinese companies.
