He received the award during a ceremony hosted by Brazilian Ambassador to Jordan Ruy Amaral, in the presence of businesspeople and diplomats.

The award is an expression of Brazil’s gratitude towards Fariz for his efforts in strengthening relations and developing areas of cooperation.

“It is an honor for me to accept this award on behalf of all the people who worked hand in hand in launching the Brazilian-Jordanian Business Association,” Fariz said.

Ambassador Amaral said that the association’s establishment in September 2020 represented both countries’ determination to pursue mutual development.

The value of trade exchange between the two countries rose to $500 million in 2021 from less than $300 million in 2020, the ambassador said, adding that Jordan’s exports to Brazil has increased by 1,600 percent in the past three years.
