The project aims to
enhance the park’s role as an urban green space for the local community,
providing a safe and welcoming environment for residents and children.
It also
highlights the importance of preserving green spaces that contribute to a
better quality of life in the capital.
Since 2023, Al
Buhtari Park has been home to an urban forest created using the Miyawaki
method, an innovative approach that involves densely planting a diverse mix of
native species to replicate the growth patterns of natural forests.
The method
promotes biodiversity, improves soil quality, and creates a balanced ecosystem
that supports faster and more sustainable plant growth. It also helps expand
urban green spaces and strengthens cities’ resilience to environmental
challenges.
The completion of
the project reflects Bank al Etihad’s commitment to long-term sustainability
and its continued support for initiatives that make a lasting difference.
Urban
forests help purify the air, combat climate change, and preserve local biodiversity,
contributing to a healthier environment for future generations.
